SAT Math Test

Mathematics | Reading | Writing

You will have 70 minutes to complete the questions presented to you in the SAT Mathematics section. This section consists of multiple-choice questions and student-produced responses.

The multiple-choice questions will have five choices for you to choose from; choice (A), (B), (C), (D), and (E). For the student-produced responses, you will need to solve the problem and fill in your answer on a special grid. You will see 10 student-produced answers on the Mathematics Section.

The topics will include high school math topics like numbers and operations, algebra, statistics, data analysis, probability, and geometry. You may use an acceptable calculator (such as a four-function, scientific, or graphing calculator) on the test. The College Board site claims that you can solve all the questions without a calculator, but for most people, a calculator is a must, especially since the test is timed and you don't want to waste your 70 minutes working through problems by hand.
