SAT Test Scores

The SAT Reasoning Test is scored on a scale of 200-800 (800 is the highest score you can possibly receive). A score of about 500 is average.

You will also receive subscores for the essay and the multiple-choice writing questions. The essay is scored from 2-12, with 12 being the highest. The writing questions are scored from 20-80, with 80 being the highest.

The SAT Subject Tests are scored from 200-800 as well. Subscores range from 20-80 just like the SAT Reasoning Tests.

College Board (the Official SAT Test site), lists dates showing when you may view your score online for a particular exam. Viewing your score online is free. You can learn more details about SAT Test Scores here.

The SAT test scores will also be mailed out on the dates shown on the College Board webpage (usually 3 weeks from the test date). Your scores will be mailed to you, your high school and the colleges you requested on your registration form. You may choose to send SAT test score results to other colleges after you've taken the exam for an additional fee.
